Dr. Deckelboim's Profile:

Dr. Deckelboim was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York.  For as long as he can remember, he always wanted to be a doctor.  After earning his M.D. at the State University of New York-Downstate Medical Center, with honors, Dr. Deckelboim completed the Ophthalmology Residency Training Program at the prestigious Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.  He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and The American College of Surgeons, as well as being a member of the Texas Ophthalmologic Association, the Texas Medical Association, and the Dallas County Medical Society.

Following several years as an associate in a suburban New York practice, Dr. Deckelboim was recruited by a hospital to establish a solo ophthalmology practice in Longview, Texas.  There he was very active in medical staff leadership and hospital governance, including a term as Chief of Staff, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Longview Regional Medical Center, and numerous committee assignments.  After 19 years in his very busy private practice, Dr. Deckelboim relocated to Dallas and assumed an ophthalmology practice that dates its roots back to the early 1900's.  Dr. Deckelboim prides himself on providing up-to-the-moment ophthalmology care with a personal touch.
